African Safari Land & Cruise Daily Itinerary
-
Today we begin our South African adventure to experience spectacular natural reserves, stunning wildlife, and the grandeur of Victoria Falls. Meals: In-Flight
-
The Apartheid Museum uses film footage, photographs, and human stories to reflect this horrific period of South Africa’s history and the country’s transformation to equality. We’ll continue with a panoramic city tour of Johannesburg and relax before a welcome dinner together. Meals: B, D
-
Today we fly to Kasane, Botswana, where we’ll board a small private boat to catch glimpses of the birds, hippos, and crocodiles living among the flooded flatlands. Enjoy a delicious dinner at the Kaza Lodge, our private oasis for the next three nights. Meals: B, D
-
Enjoy a full-day safari in the Chobe National Park, home to one-fourth of Africa’s total elephant population. Enjoy lunch in a “floating restaurant” on the Chobe River where the natural views are unparalleled and where the animals gather to quench their thirst. We’ll sail to the Sedudu Islands, watching for elephants, hippos, giraffes, and more. Meals: B, L, D
-
Discover the traditional homes, culture, and customs of an authentic Namibian village. Carrying water on their heads, cooking with open fire, and ploughing their lands with oxen, these villagers live a simple life. Later during dinner on board, our guide will tell us about Impalila Island’s rich history, deep cultural roots, and tribal empires. Enjoy a special sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Meals: B, L, D
-
We’ll enjoy one last water safari in the Chobe National Park and later, be amazed by the stunning panoramas as we fly over Lake Kariba. Housing just eight cabins, our exclusive home on the Zimbabwean Dream provides a very special three night voyage as we sail across beautiful Lake Kariba, with iconic scenes of trees half-submerged in the water and stunning, golden sunsets. Meals: B, L, D
-
We’ll set sail through the rare and mysterious landscapes of Lake Kariba, where drowned trees reach skyward from the depths of the reflecting water. Cruising the waterways of Matusadona National Park, we’ll witness the magical landscapes and unique wildlife in the area. As the sun begins to set, we’ll admire the colors of the sky as it shimmers with pink, yellow, and purple. Meals: B, L, D
-
This morning we’ll discover the Matusadona National Park, home to elephants, hippos, buffalos, and thousands of birds including the African Sea Eagle, Yellow-billed Stork, and Black Heron. During the construction of the Kariba Dam, the rising floodwaters affected the native wildlife. Operation Noah allowed for large mammals, big cats, impalas, and more to be moved to Matusadona where hunting is strictly prohibited. We’ll learn about the creation of the lake, its inhabitants, and its ecosystem. Watch for creatures big and small as we sail throughout the night. Meals: B, L, D
-
Say goodbye to the Zimbabwean Dream and visit the Lake Kariba Dam. We’ll fly over Lake Kariba for one last look before arriving in Victoria Falls, our home for the next two nights. Meals: B, L, D
-
Experience elephants up close as we walk among these majestic creatures as we tour Victoria Falls on foot. Venture to a nearby family-run farm where we’ll be welcomed by the rhythmic sounds of traditional drumming, harvest fresh produce straight from the fields, and prepare a feast of Zimbabwean favorites. At the Lookout Café, enjoy stunning views of the Batoka Gorge and the Zambezi River. Meals: B, L
-
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport for our flights home with our souls and minds changed forever by Africa’s beautiful landscapes, stunning wildlife, and friendly people. Meals: B, In-Flight
