Our Italian journey begins in Sicily, a sun-soaked island rich in history, stunning coastlines, and charming hilltop towns. After checking into our hotel, we’ll have time to unwind before enjoying a festive welcome dinner. Meals: D

On a guided tour, we’ll see the historic Spanish gates and city walls, the botanical gardens, and the dazzling Norman Royal Palace and Palatine Chapel, famed for its golden mosaics and intricate wooden ceilings. Visit the grand Massimo Opera House and wander lively Ballarò Market, Piazza Bellini, and Piazza Pretoria with its striking marble fountain. Ending at the Quattro Canti, the remainder of the day is yours to explore on your own. Meals: B

Journey to the hill town of Monreale to admire the 12th‑century Duomo of Santa Maria Nuova, covered in Byzantine mosaics, shimmering with gold leaf. Continue to Baglio Florio for a guided winery tour and tasting, while learning about the legendary Florio family and their Marsala wine legacy. Later, visit the dramatic Doric Temple of Segesta, rising nobly from a remote hilltop. Meals: B, L

Travel along Sicily’s picturesque north coast, passing sparkling seas and cinematic landscapes. Our first stop will be the charming city of Cefalu, to visit the UNESCO‑listed Cefalu Cathedral, dating back to the 12th century. Explore elegant Taormina on a guided walking tour featuring the ancient Greek‑Roman Theatre, dramatically perched above the sea with unforgettable views of Mount Etna. Today will be a great adventure as we travel through the lava fields of Rifugio Sapienza in a 4 x 4 vehicle, then ascend Mt. Etna by cable car for sweeping views of craters, volcanic terrain, and the Sicilian coast. Walk among dramatic lava formations as your guide explains Etna’s powerful geological history. Enjoy a group lunch before returning to Giardini‑Naxos.

Today is an exciting day as we cross the Strait of Messina by ferry, travel by train to Salerno, and then continue by coach to Sorrento where we’ll enjoy a guided walk through this lively coastal town. We’ll visit Tasso Square, the Basilica of Sant’Antonino, the medieval Sedile Dominova, and bustling Corso Italia lined with artisan shops and cafés. We’ll gather for a group dinner to relish the flavors of Italy. Meals: B, D

Delve into southern Italy’s farm‑to‑table traditions in nearby Schiazzano. Walk through lemon groves and olive orchards while sampling fresh lemonades, jams, and olive oil. Learn the secrets of traditional limoncello and visit a cheese farm for mozzarella and ricotta tastings. We’ll enjoy a hands-on pizza making class where we’ll savor our creations for lunch, complemented by a homemade dessert and coffee. The remainder of the evening is yours to explore sun-drenched Sorrento.
