Today we fly to Dallas to begin our Texas adventure. We’ll visit the historic Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, a museum located in the former Texas School Book Depository, chronicling the assassination and legacy of John F. Kennedy. After checking into our hotel, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner. Meals: D

Experience stunning bursts of color and the sweet aromas of flowering spring bulbs at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Take in the breathtaking display of over 500,000 tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, azaleas, and cherry trees. Enjoy some free time to have lunch and explore the area. Stepping into the John Wayne Birthplace Museum feels like riding straight into a Western legend, with every room echoing the grit, charm, and larger-than-life legacy of the Duke himself. The Old West comes alive before your eyes during the world’s only Longhorn cattle drive as drivers herd these large beasts down the middle of Fort Worth’s Exchange Avenue. Meals: B

Travel to Waco to visit the Magnolia Market at the Silos, made famous by television personalities, Chip and Joanna Gaines. At the Magnolia Market, play games on the lawn, take a stroll through the garden, or have a tasty cupcake at Silos Baking Co. In the afternoon, we’ll continue to the world-class Horseshoe Bay Resort, nestled along the lakeshore in scenic Texas Hill Country, with championship golf courses, full-service waterfront spa, and multiple restaurants serving everything from Texas BBQ to fresh seafood. We’ll depart Horseshoe Bay and head to the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas. Dedicated to those who served in the Pacific War, this museum has been rated as one of the best in the United States. It houses the Admiral Nimitz Gallery, the George Bush Gallery of the Pacific War, the Plaza of Presidents, a Japanese Peace Garden, and more. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a wine tasting at Wildseed Farms, nestled among 200 acres of blooming wildflowers and vineyard rows. We’ll return to the resort for a relaxing evening. Meals: B, L

Today we travel to Austin for a guided tour of its vibrant and energetic downtown area. Tour the three-story, sunset-red capital building with its ornate architecture, detailed handrails, and brass chandeliers. We’ll visit the LBJ Presidential Library where we’ll learn about LBJ’s forceful personality, mastery of power and the political process, and boundless appetite for social reform. After signing an unparalleled 200+ landmark laws during his five years in office, there is no question that our country still stands in the wake of LBJ's America. This afternoon, we’ll drive to San Antonio and check into the historic Menger Hotel, the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Mississippi, just steps from the Alamo. This long-rooted landmark is renowned for its refined architecture, museum-worthy mementos, and esteemed history. The hotel’s Spanish courtyard garden is filled with palm trees, azaleas, and a three-tiered fountain. Meals: B

This morning, we will visit the historical landmark of the Alamo, where the Texan settlers fought to the death against the Mexican army. The remainder of the day is yours to stroll along the banks of the San Antonio Riverwalk and explore its world-class museums, delicious dining options, centuries-old historic sites, and open green spaces. Feel free to use your included ticket for a Rio River narrated boat tour and experience the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk from the water. This evening we’ll gather for a farewell dinner to share stories of our time in Texas. Meals: B, D

In the morning, we’ll visit the serene Mission San Jose, located on the east banks of the San Antonio River, and discover this historical national park’s orchards, gardens, courtyard walls, and stone church. We’ll make our way to the airport for our journey home with our own Texas tales. Meals: B
