Canadian Rockies Tour Daily Itinerary

  • Journey by air to the city of Calgary, Alberta, to begin an adventure through some of the most stunning scenery on earth. We’ll make our way to Lake Louise, our home for the night, leaving the city skyline behind us and the foothills of the Rockies rising in the distance.  After checking into our hotel, we’ll join our fellow travelers for a get-acquainted dinner. Meals: D

  • Begin your day at the iconic Lake Louise, where mirror-like waters reflect towering peaks. After soaking in this postcard-perfect view, head north along the scenic Icefields Parkway where we’ll board the all-terrain Ice Explorer for a once-in-a-lifetime excursion onto the Athabasca Glacier. Stand atop ancient ice, sip glacier water straight from the source, and feel the chill of Earth's deep past beneath your feet.  As we journey south, we’ll stop at the surreal Peyto Lake, famed for its wolf-head shape and otherworldly blue hue, before checking into our hotel in Banff, our home for the next two nights. Meals: B, L

  • Begin your day with a touch of culture at the charming Whyte Museum, where local art and mountain heritage come alive. Then drift into relaxation with a serene float trip along the Bow River, surrounded by towering peaks and wildlife-spotting opportunities. Afterward, savor a mouthwatering lunch in beautiful Banff. The afternoon is yours to enjoy whether it's boutique hopping, spa unwinding, or simply soaking in Banff’s alpine magic. Meals: B, L

  • We begin our travels today heading to Waterton Lakes National Park where the prairies of Alberta meet the peaks of the Rocky Mountains.  This national park boasts clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, rainbow-colored streams, striking mountain vistas, and diverse wildlife.  Waterton packs a big natural punch into a relatively small area.  At the Bar U Ranch, we’ll explore the many ranch buildings, grounds, and exhibits, featuring the lives and history of the hard-working cowboys and ranchers from the late 1800s.  We’ll continue to the Bayshore Inn in Watertown, our home for the next two nights.  Meals: B, D

  • We’ll travel to Montana to stunning Glacier National Park, a paradise showcasing melting glaciers, alpine meadows, and spectacular lakes. Climb aboard the famous Glacier National Park Red Jammers, a vintage touring vehicle as iconic as the park itself. We’ll ride along the “Going-to-the-Sun” Highway and climb our way to the top of the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. Take in the panoramic views of impressive glaciers, cascading waterfalls, and colorful wildflowers. Keep your eyes open for mountain goats, rams, and the occasional grizzly bear. Meals: B

  • Wind down our adventure with a scenic drive to Calgary, beginning with a stop in Fort Macleod to explore the iconic Museum of the NW Mounted Police, a glimpse into Canada’s law-keeping legacy. In Calgary, soak in the city’s dynamic spirit with visits to Stampede Park and view the architectural marvel of the Central Library. Settle in for the night at our comfortable hotel, where a warm farewell dinner awaits to toast the journey’s unforgettable memories. Meals: B, D

What is the difference between the Rocky Mountaineer’s GoldLeaf Service and SilverLeaf Service?
Both offer amazing scenery, world-class service, master storytellers, and complimentary meals, beverages and snacks.

SilverLeaf Service:

SilverLeaf Service coaches offer a generous amount of space for you to stand, stretch or look at the view from the over-sized windows.
Freshly prepared meals, beverages and snacks are served at your seat, and everything is located on one level. SilverLeaf Service coaches have a small, enclosed outdoor area that can be shared comfortably by one or two people at a time.

GoldLeaf Service:

With a dining room and an outdoor viewing platform on the lower level, plus spacious, reclining seats and full-dome windows on the upper level, the bi-level, GoldLeaf Service coaches stand taller than our single-level SilverLeaf Service coaches. The upper level is where you can relax, stretch out in comfortable, reclining seats and enjoy beverages and snacks. The GoldLeaf Service coaches have an elevator and an outdoor viewing platform.
